Invitations
What are Duel Invitations and how can they boost your programme promotion when enabled?
Overview
The Invitations feature lets you reward existing advocates for bringing new advocates into your programme. Each advocate receives a unique invitation link to share with their audience — when someone applies via that link and is accepted, the referring advocate receives the reward you've configured.

Reward Types
You can configure invitation rewards as:
- Points — added directly to the advocate's points balance
- Promo codes — vouchers or discount codes issued upon hitting the threshold
- Points & promo code — a combined reward delivered as a single rule
🚨 Note: Only one active rule per audience is allowed at a time. If you want to reward with both points and a promo code, use the Points & Promotion reward type and configure them together as a single rule — do not create two separate rules.
Waterfall Rule Priority
Invitation rules follow a waterfall order — if multiple rules could apply to the same advocate or group, the rule sitting highest in the list takes priority.
This gives you a flexible on/off system: you can set up multiple rules in advance and simply enable or disable them as needed. The topmost active rule for a given audience is always the one that applies.
Setup Steps
Enabling the Rules
- Navigate to the Advocates > Invitations
- Enable the Invitations feature.
- Set up the reward rules by selecting the type of reward:
- Points
- Promotion (promo code)
- Points & Promotion
- Then set the desired audience (group and tier)
- When setting up rewards for points, you can specify the amount of points that advocates will receive, the number of signups they need to achieve, and if necessary, the maximum number of invitations they can be rewarded for.
- For promo codes, generate a batch of promo codes and upload them by clicking on "Add Promotion". Then, specify the number of invitations needed and the maximum number of invitations they can be rewarded for.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Setting up link visibility for Advocates
- Navigate to the Advocates > Groups > Group Profiles > Select appropriate group > Overview page
- Enable the Invitations Channel.
- Add a title (e.g., "Invite your friends" or "Invite a new member") and provide a clear explanation in the body of the text on how invitations work and the rewards involved.
By following these steps, you can easily set up invitations and enable ambassador accounts to start inviting new members and earning rewards.
