Leaderboard Engagement

How to setup and engage your advocates using leaderboard competitions

Please keep in mind that this is a general guide, and it is important to consider and plan for any specific details related to your brand or program.

Steps

  1. Choose activity metric to measure performance against; task completions or referrals (we advise tracking on number of orders over spend for referrals because this puts the onus back on community and expanding your community rather than just revenue).
  2. Plan launch date and end date (we advise a 10 day timeline). You will also need to decide how often you plan to update the Leaderboard with results, e.g. every 2 days.
  3. The Leaderboard needs to be positioned as a competition with rewards and prizes. Deciding on these ahead of time is crucial, so you can promote the campaign before launch and drive interest.
  4. On the morning of launch, export all members and import into the Members tab of the Referral Leaderboard Template.
  5. To update the Leaderboard (how often you do this depends on point 2) head to the Orders tab > Referrals (points) and filter the dates from the campaign start-date to present, export the data and import it into the "Referral Orders Export" tab of the Referral Leaderboard Template. This will populate the Leaderboard Results tab which you can sort to view your top performers.
  6. Share your results with your community. You can do this in a few different ways, please see some options below. You can do one to all of these options - of course the more touch points the greater the visibility and impact:
    1. As a Newsletter: we advise having 3 emails within the flow; launch email, half way there email and results email.
    2. Via the portal Landing Page: by creating an html template for the internal overview page you can update this according to the results and chosen frequency.
    3. On Socials: we advise launching via stories and updating your audience regularly, you can then celebrate the winner by sharing their content on a grid post.
    4. Via a pinned Task: this would require a graphic image to be uploaded to a task and updates according to point 2.
