How are the Points Calculated?
Performance Points reward advocates with additional points based on how well their content performs after posting.
Available on Social Post Action Steps submitted through Duel, this feature incentivises high-performing content by awarding points for views, reactions, and comments — driving greater reach and value for your brand.
Which Action Steps Are Eligible?
Social Post Action Steps are Duel’s built-in social post task types, such as Instagram Grid, Reels, TikTok posts, and Facebook posts. See the complete list of supported action steps under Social Posts here.
Points Breakdown
- Base Points:
- Variable points awarded for completing and submitting the task.
- Performance-Based Points:
- +1 point for every 100 views on a video post
- +1 point for every 10 reactions
- +1 point for every 10 comments
When Are Points Awarded?
Points are calculated and updated at three intervals after the post is accepted by an operator during moderation:
- Day 1 after acceptance
- Day 7 after acceptance
- Day 30 after acceptance
🚨 The countdown starts from when the post is accepted by an operator during moderation, not from when the advocate submits it. Points are updated at each scrape interval, so an advocate's total may increase across all three stages as their post accumulates more views and engagements.
Detailed how are the Points Calculated?
Points are awarded per metric using a floor calculation — only complete thresholds count, and any remainder is discarded:
floor(views / 100) + floor(reactions / 10) + floor(comments / 10).
Each metric is calculated independently. Partial thresholds do not roll over or combine across metrics.
Example A — no points awarded:
- 20 views:
floor(20 ÷ 100)= 0 - 8 reactions:
floor(8 ÷ 10)= 0 - 3 comments:
floor(3 ÷ 10)= 0 - Total: 0 points
Example B — points awarded:
- 150 views:
floor(150 ÷ 100)= 1 - 25 reactions:
floor(25 ÷ 10)= 2 - 7 comments:
floor(7 ÷ 10)= 0 - Total: 3 points
An advocate must reach at least one full threshold before any points are awarded:
- At least 100 views, or
- At least 10 reactions, or
- At least 10 comments
There is a 500 point cap per post across all performance points combined.
