Task Action Steps

Here’s a summary of the available action steps and best practice use cases. Every task must have at least one action step, but you can include multiple if needed.

Below are the different options available, along with more details.

  • Image Upload – High-quality photo upload, will be stored in the content tab for reuse and use in galleries
  • Evidence – Low-quality or unusable image uploads, such as screenshots. These do not go into the content tab once completed.
  • Data Collection – Uses form fields to gather responses from advocates. See further details here.
  • Social Follow – Directs advocates to follow a designated social media account.
  • Social Posts – Requires advocates to create posts on platforms such as:
    • Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, YouTube, Twitch, or Strava
    • Posts must include specific hashtags and mentions for tracking.
    • We recommend a unique hashtag for each task on the same social platform.
    • This action step requires the post to be public.
    • Will be stored in the content tab for reuse and use in galleries
  • Social Evidence – Captures engagement from Instagram Stories or YouTube Shorts.
    • The Duel dashboard tracks social statistics related to the post.
  • Call to Action – Link out to external content, such as newsletter sign up. Additionally, Call to Action tasks can be managed in bulk by uploading a list of email addresses.
  • Vote – Advocates can vote for their favourite pieces of user-generated content (UGC). The votes will be ranked, allowing for the automatic population of galleries based on popularity.
  • Task Referral -  This action step has been replaced by Referrals and Affiliates system, which is now in use.
