Single Sign-On (SSO): Dashboard Access

Enable seamless and secure access to the Duel Dashboard by integrating SAML Single Sign-On (SSO), allowing your team to log in using their existing work credentials.

Setting Up SAML SSO for the Duel Dashboard

This article explains how to configure Single Sign-On (SSO) via SAML for the Duel dashboard, enabling secure login for your brand’s operator accounts. These steps apply specifically to backend (dashboard) access. For guidance on configuring SSO for the Advocate-facing portal (frontend), please refer to the appropriate documentation here.

Overview

To enable SAML SSO, your IT team will need to configure your identity provider and provide several details to Duel. Once SSO is enabled, your team can access the Duel dashboard using their work credentials through your identity provider.

Requirements

Duel will require the following information to initiate the configuration process.

  • Your brand’s Duel Short ID see here

  • SAML configuration details from your identity provider, including:

    • SSO URL – the login endpoint from your identity provider.

    • Public Certificate (X.509) – used to validate the identity of your IdP.

    • Issuer / Entity ID – the unique identifier of your IdP.

    • Signature Details – confirmation of whether your IdP signs the SAML Response, Assertion, or both. This ensures compatibility and prevents common signature validation errors.

Share the gathered information with your designated contact at Duel. The Duel team will then enter these details into the Admin Dashboard to activate SSO for your brand’s operator and admin accounts.

Adding Operators

After sharing the necessary information and completing the setup, you will need to add operators to your Duel dashboard account to grant them SSO access.

  1. Navigate to Settings.

  2. Click the Operators tab.

  3. Add each user by entering their work email address.

Only users listed here will be able to sign in via SSO.

Signing In via SSO

Once configuration is complete, users can log in through your SSO endpoint:

https://app.duel.me/sso/<your-short-id>

This will redirect them to your identity provider’s login page for authentication.
