Campaign-specific Affiliate Links

Brands can customise Advocate affiliate links for specific campaigns, product launches, or promotional periods using the E-Store settings. This enables more targeted tracking, better engagement, and tailored user journeys.

What Are Campaign-specific Affiliate Links?

Campaign-specific affiliate links allow you to direct Advocates’ traffic to a dedicated landing page instead of the default Store Homepage URL. This is ideal when you want to:

  • Promote a specific product or collection

  • Support seasonal campaigns (e.g. Black Friday, Holiday drops)

  • Test the performance of different destinations

  • Align links with limited-time promotions or discount events

By updating the destination URL within the E-Store, all affiliate links generated for Advocates in that group will point to your chosen campaign page.

How to Configure a Campaign-specific Link

  1. Navigate to Members > Group Profiles > [Select Group] > E-Store

  2. In the Store Homepage URL or Store Promo URL field, paste the full URL of your campaign landing page

  3. Add any required tracking parameters (e.g. UTM tags, referral codes)

  4. Save your changes ✅

Note: If you are also using auto-applied promo codes, ensure the format of your URL supports both redirects and code application. See below for platform-specific guidance.

Shopify Example

If your campaign lives on a Shopify collection page and you’re also applying referral codes, use Shopify’s redirect parameter to avoid issues:

https://www.brandstore.com/discount/[promo-code]?redirect=/collections/summer-campaign

This ensures the discount code is applied and the Advocate is directed to the correct collection page.

Considerations & Best Practices

  • Maintain consistency: Update all applicable URL fields (Homepage, Promo, Deep Link) to avoid broken journeys.

  • Coordinate with your eCommerce team: Ensure compatibility between redirects, promo code application, and tracking requirements.

  • Test your links: Use a test Advocate to validate that referral codes and redirects are applied correctly.

  • Set clear timeframes: Revert links to their default destinations after a campaign ends to avoid outdated user journeys.

Combining with Tracking Parameters

You can enhance campaign-specific links with static or dynamic tracking parameters:

https://www.brandstore.com/collections/summer-campaign&utm_source=duel&utm_medium=advocacy&member=[member-username]

This enables campaign performance analysis at the Advocate, group, or cohort level.
