Fraud Detection and Advocate Bans - April 2026

How Duel protects your programme from fraudulent activity, and what you can do if an advocate is incorrectly suspended

Duel now includes automated fraud detection across advocate programmes, with the ability to suspend accounts that show strong signals of inauthentic activity. Here's what that means for your programme and what to do if you ever need to raise a query.

🔒 What's new

Duel's fraud detection system monitors advocate activity within your programme and flags accounts that show patterns associated with automated or coordinated behaviour. Flagged accounts are suspended automatically, and reward distribution to those accounts is paused until a review is completed.

🚨 How fraud detection works

Fraud detection runs across advocate activity within your programme. Accounts are flagged based on a combination of behavioural signals. No single signal triggers a ban in isolation.

☑️ What happens when an advocate is banned

When an account is suspended for fraud:

  • The advocate can no longer log in to your programme
  • Reward distribution to that account is paused immediately
  • Their points, task history, and account data are fully retained — nothing is deleted

Bans are reversible. If a ban is lifted, the advocate's account is restored in full and any rewards owed during the suspension period are recalculated and distributed automatically.
